Summary:
This position will be responsible for growing Master Lock's digital product and service portfolio for our Security, Safes, and Safety categories. The Director will bring a robust, holistic approach to Software Product Management that will address all aspects of the product. Overall responsibilities include definition, prioritization and direction of the strategy, as well as the deployment and execution of the commercialization plans with global, multi-channel end users collaborating cross functionally with product marketing, sales, product development, and operations. This position will play a lead role in identifying new business and product opportunities, supporting and encouraging innovation, crafting compelling experiences and creating win-win partnerships.
DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute annual 3 year strategic plans for the new platforms and the product & service portfolio based on end user, market and competitive feedback as well as cross functional internal team feedback.
Develop and execute new program development objectives, strategies and timelines to grow revenue and profit.
o Research and monitor relevant markets, competitors and technology
o Research and verify new product features, positioning and potential
o Identify and support important industry activities such as product standards development.
o Support product management in administering alpha/beta site testing of new programs.
o Obtain necessary organization approvals for New Program Development and market development activities, via financial and market justifications, including Capital Expenditure Requests
Design and implement a comprehensive product marketing strategy
Define and drive Market Opportunity Assessments for new program platforms based on end user needs and requirements. Define use cases, hardware/firmware/software feature requirements, roadmaps and release plans.
Support Product Management in completing Market Opportunity Assessments for product/service programs that are related to the defined platforms.
Develop the business cases and secure the legal agreements required for commercialization
Leverage concept creating, testing and refinement, partnering with market research manager as required
Drive feature prioritization and work closely with program development teams to deliver successful products/services.
Collaborate with cross functional product management to plan, develop and manage new program launches including price, promotion, placement, forecasting and marketing communication.
Responsible for leading and mentoring a high performing team which will deliver Master Lock's vision
Set the example as a Director in the organization. Think as a business leader in addition to a technical leader.
Travel routinely to end users, customers and market events.
Communicate regularly with internal teams
Develop and manage expense & capital budgets.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Requires a minimum of 10
years of relevant experience in marketing management & technical role in a security related field. Experience developing business plans, launching programs and managing marketing communication activity.
A Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field is required. A MBA is highly desirable.
Knowledge of Software product strategy & life cycle management that includes market analysis, user requirement gathering and definition, roadmap and release development, through to end of life
Demonstrated knowledge of the Software development process; understanding of stage gate, agile, and lean development processes, web application architecture, code version control, unit testing procedures, API integration architectures, software as a service
Knowledge and understanding of value propositions, product positioning, and marketing communications.
Ability to perform market research, gather un-biased customer feedback, gather analytics and reliability metrics and reporting, and perform competitive analysis.
Ability to work cross functionally and at varying hierarchy levels
Ideal candidate traits include: extensive prior experience in product management; quick learner, self-motivated and directed, solid analytical and critical thinking skills, high quality of work output, strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated product management experience
Experience defining, developing and launching consumer and commercial products; demonstrating an understanding of end user problems and how to solve them
Experience in the mobile software world preferred; comfortable interacting with Agile and other Software development processes is required
Experience in the field of identity, authentication, log-in, user data, user profiles and the data economy.
Experience defining high quality, consumer facing user experiences or at a minimum a demonstrated user empathy through product design

Understanding & experience with solutions comprised of software, hardware & firmware components.
