Main Responsibilities
The incumbent contributes to the profit objectives of the APA Decorative market segment through the development and formulation of coatings that reflect quality and meet customer requirements. Direct contact with the customers and suppliers to determine these requirements will be required.
Incumbent is also responsible for interacting constructively with PPG sales, marketing, engineering, and technical service functions to understand customer needs and process scenarios
The incumbent will be responsible for interacting with plant production personnel, Marketing Services, and QA personnel to assist with problem resolution as it pertains to formula or batch issues.
The incumbent will support product development via coordinating, conducting and evaluating experiments in relation to the physical or chemical aspects of coatings. He/she will also be responsible for identifying technical problems and difficulties with materials and application methods and recommend modifications based on knowledge, literature and previous experience.
A Technical Supervisor at this level will be responsible for the supervision of one to four chemists and multiple technicians.
Incumbent may be responsible for tracking and reporting of team metrics.


Experience and Education
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or equivalent.
At least ten years experience.
At least five years experience as a supervisor/manager. Proven leadership skills.

Functional and Technical Skills
Demonstrated technical experience in the surface coating industry.
Knowledge of color theory, paint application and coatings technology are essential.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Ability to manage, motivate, develop and promote teamwork is essential. Higher level project management skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills (both oral and written)

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
